Byldis at Beton Experience

Byldis at Beton Experience

Byldis is one of the speakers on 13 November at the Beton Experience in the iconic Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam.

Dirk Derikx, Structural Design Engineer at Byldis, presents at 14:45:

“We are currently busy with the preparations and engineering of the precast construction for the new eye-catcher in Rotterdam; De Zalmhaven! De Zalmhaven is located at the foot of the Erasmus bridge and will become the Netherlands’ highest building. And this with a construction tempo of no less than one floor per week!”

About The Beton Experience

The Beton Experience is an entirely free event for mbo, hbo and wo students and accompanying teachers to get to know the concrete construction sector. You don’t want to miss it! Byldis will give a presentation at the Engineers Square.

About The Van Nelle Factory

The Van Nelle Factory is an admirable construction of concrete, steel and glass. Devised for entrepreneurship, designed to innovate. Event location and office complex. But primarily: inspiring meeting place. For creative spirits, entrepreneurial types, congress and fair visitors, party-goers and architecture lovers from all over the world. Feel the buzz of activity: the Van Nelle Factory is bustling, just like the city.

The Van Nelle Factory was once the most modern factory in the Netherlands. The first daylight factory in Europe. Designed to generate energy. A model of functionalism. Not brick, but concrete. No supporting walls, but columns. A facade of steel and glass. A sea of daylight on the work-floor. The building was designed to give energy. It was renovated in 2002 and is therefore sustainable down to the details. The listed building in Rotterdam has been registered as UNESCO World Heritage since 2014.

The time for coffee, tea and tobacco has passed. But the Van Nelle Factory, now as a place to work and organise events, is still characterised by activity and modernity.
